In order for Stackmate.io to be able to deploy cloud resources on AWS, we need access to your account. In order to help you maintain a secure AWS account, we don’t ask for your credentials. We instead ask you to create an IAM role, which provides temporary credentials that last for max 12 hours.

This practically means that we don’t store your AWS credentials, but we still maintain access to your account. To learn more on how you can create an AWS role, please visit the corresponding documentation page.

You can read more about AWS IAM roles here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/id_roles.html
